Christmas 2010 - Monday

Monday was sort of our slow day the week after Christmas. We didn't do much of anything besides maybe making some food and playing with Ava. But as long as Ava is around things are never bored!

Kent & Ava. I don't remember what they were doing here.... it kinda looks like they were watching a movie, but they may just have been watching someone else in the room. She looks like such a big girl!

Ava loved the magnet game. Kent would hold the little itty bitty metals hearts in his hand and Ava would pick them up with the black magnet... which Kent has in his other hand in this picture. She like waving the magnet around under his hand and watching the hearts move around on top of his hand!

Ava also loves the phone! She pretended like she was calling her daddy and Kent would act like he was talking on his cellphone to her. She called her mommy, her daddy, Caillou (a TV show she likes), and Strawberry Shortcake!

Pappy's notorious for tickling!!

Ava liked the big pegs but she couldn't quite figure out how to get the string to go through one end and come out the other. After she had her "necklace", I had to have one just like it. Ava plays very good.
When she gets tired of a game, she'll just tell you she wants another and usually she helps clean up the one she's finished with.
The game she loved the most this time was dominoes. Nobody told her they were dominoes, we just thought she wanted to play with them like blocks. Then Ashley asked her what she was playing with and she said, "dominoes"! Ashley was like, "how did you know those were dominoes?" And Ava said, "Like Max & Ruby". Ashley said Max and Ruby was like an educational TV show that Ava likes. She is really quick! She remember just about everything she hears.
Ashley showed her a pictures of a tricycle once and asked Ava what is was thinking she would tell her it was just a bike. But Ava told her that is was trike because it had 3 wheels!!! She's definitely her father's daughter! Kent was always really smart too. But Ashley has taught her alot, too. Ashley will ask her what things are or tell her what they are; she teaches her how to do things, sing things, and play games; and she's got the best manners for a two-year-old that I've ever seen!
We love having Ava around! After she leaves we're all like, "the house is way too quiet"!

Tuesday, the next day, Khara and Tim came and we had our Christmas with Kent and Khara and their families.... which I will post pictures of the next time I get the chance!
In the mornings I've been working on Latin, Alg 2, and Chemistry and then working on my online Medical Transcription course for several hours in the afternoon/evening. So by the time I get done with that, I usually want to get away from the computer for a while!
I'm still having trouble uploading pictures though. A message keeps popping up telling me my Picasa Web Albums are full, so I'm still trying to figure that out.
