Kent, Ashley, and Ava's visit

Kent, Ashley, Ava came to visit on the 9th and 10th. We had a really good time with them, and it turned out that we had really pretty weather too. So we got to be outside all of Sunday afternoon. That was really the first day of warm, beautiful sunshine we've had this year! Well, it was the first day I'd been outside without a coat this year! It felt so good!!
So all of these pictures are ones that mom took Sunday afternoon. Watch and see how many different faces Ava makes! Her and Timmy both have the cutest expressions! And once mom gets a hold of the camera her finger is like glued to that shutter button, so there's a lot of pictures here! But can you really have too many pictures?

Ashley wasn't feeling good, so Kent took her to the pharmacy in McHenry to get something to help. So when Kent drove in, Ava was in her Little Tikes car waving at him :) As fast as she's growing now, she'll be driving a real car before too long! She seemed so big when she walked in Saturday night. She ran right in and said, "I have my Daddy!!!!!!!!!!!" But it seemed like she'd grown a foot since the last time I'd seen her! But, as she kept reminding us, she is 3 now!

My good-lookin' brother!

Can you see where Kent got his good looks?!

Kent and Ashley...

I thought this was a neat picture. Mom took it through the "post" on our front porch.

Miss sober sock! She takes that driving thing seriously :)

Ava loves her shoes! She told us she got these for her birthday; "My Sketchers light up"!

I miss you, Kent...

Sunday was the 10th, and Ava's birthday was the 8th. So Karissa made her a cake, and we all got her presents and had her "party" Sunday afternoon. This is chalk (sidewalk chalk) from Katrina.

Bubbles from Kaitlyn... Kaleb got her a refill for that thing!

Strawberry shortcake coloring book from 'Issa...

Ava's card from Karissa.

I gave her hairbows, necklaces, and head bands. Pappy is reading her card for her.

Mom and Dad (Pappy and Nana, to Ava) gave her a bubble mower. It was suppose to blow bubbles whenever she pushed it, but we never did get it to work. When Ava opened it and saw the picture on the front (which is a little boy pushing the mower), she said "Oh no, this one's for boys!"

Trying to get the bubble mower to make bubbles...

A 3-year-old was suppose to be able to operate that little mower, so Kent and Dad figured something must have been broken in it. It never did blow bubbles.

... still trying to get those bubbles to come out!

Kaitlyn's bubble gift went over wonderfully, however! Katrina and Ava had lots of fun with these!

She also liked popping the bubbles she'd blown :)

The bubble set came with 3 different wands that were all "curled" in a variety of ways. They worked very good too!

....Can't make that toy work!

Katrina tried to show her how to catch a bubble on the end of her wand, but she couldn't get the hang of it :) Kaleb's bubble refill (his gift to Ava) came in hand that afternoon. We went through a lot of them!

Kayah actually sat on my lap for a while. She wasn't very content though; she was terrified of the traffic.

More bubbles!!

How cute is that?!?!!!!!

An Ava Expression :)

Gorgeous Eyes!

I had a harness type thing that I used with Kayce outside, and it worked pretty good. But Kayah didn't like it at all... Kent had to help me get it one!

Kaleb riding his bike down the road.

Doesn't she look like a wild little thing?! She's about that friendly too...

When the little jar of bubbles kept tipping, Ava went to dipping her wand straight into the refill!

I'm such a lucky Aunt... to have a Ava as my niece :)

Still blowin' bubbles!

After a while, Kent and Kaleb and I went to the side of the house to play catch. The weather was just perfect!

He's awesome!

This is the cake Karissa made for Ava. It's actually an Angel Food Cake.

 Blowing out her candles :)

Whoa!!! We really should have had a fire extinguisher handy before we lit all those candles!!!
I made a Wacky Cake for Kent - whose birthday was the 2nd.

Daddy's gettin' too old to blow all those candles! So Ava helped.... :)

Ready, Set....

By the time we ate our cakes, Ava was pretty tuckered out!!

Ya, she was definitely tired!!!!

Ava's legs were almost long enough to reach both the pedals at the same time! She could do it going straight, but when she turned, one of her feet came off the pedal.

Playin' chalk...

Riding her trike again :)

And then it was time for them to leave. We had a really good visit, but it was so short :(

~ ~ ~

It already seems like forever since they've been here.... In reality, it hasn't even been a month.
We did have a good time with them, though, and we were thankful for the time we got.
... And we hope it won't be so long before we get to see them again!
