Olympic Spirit

I'm not much into sports ...
I'm not very athletic myself and, besides baseball, I don't understand a lot of other sports (especially football).

But for some reason I'm really into the Olympics this year

... I thinks it's partly because I'm super patriotic and I just like cheering for all things red-white-and-blue!

These are my Olympic finger nails (don't look too close... they're not that good):

And...
First you see my right foot (hover to see what it says):
...and then put that with my left foot and think creatively:

Oh, and this is my laptop screen:

...and these (and a few others are my screen savers):

My all-time favorite Olympian is gymnast Shawn Johnson - 2008 Olympic gold- and silver-medalist.
...so I've been keeping up the U.S.A gymnasts pretty closely. They've become known as the "Fierce Five" after winning the team gold medal in London.
Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, and Kyla Ross
Gabby Douglas also won the women's all-around, securing the title of best female Olympic gymnast.
...interestingly, if you unscramble Gabby's last name (Douglas), it can spell "USA gold"!!!
Shawn Johnson and Gabby Douglas where both coached by Liang Chow:

Also, Aly Raisman won gold in floor finals and bronze in beam finals. She tied for 3rd in the all-around but missed the bronze there as the tie-breaker landed her in 4th. She also tied for 3rd in beam finals but this time the tie-breaker came out in her favor.

...and McKayla Maroney took Silver on vault finals:

It's also kinda neat that the worlds most-decorated, greatest-ever Olympian (Michael Phelps) is from my state's capitol (Baltimore, MD).

... and that the youngest U.S. gold medalist is also from MD.

I'm official!

I was recently certified in 2 medical areas:

1. Medical Transcription
I graduated from Career Step (with honors) in July and received my certificate in early August!!!
I am officially a medical transcriptionist!

2. CPR
I took a class with a friend at the hospital on August 2nd ... and it was a lot more fun than I had anticipated! They spelled my name wrong on my card, but that's alright - I do that myself sometimes!
I had to have my CPR certification to begin my clinicals at ACM (allegany college of maryland) next spring ... so I am 1 step closer to that and just as anxious as ever :)
