Our Hurricane Sandy Blizzard

The East Coast "Superstorm" hit western Maryland yesterday and hasn't let up very much since then. It rained all morning yesterday and started to snow around 2:00 in the afternoon. At 2:30 I thought it would be neat to take a picture every hour and watch the accumulation.

9:00 a.m. today

We're not getting precipitation quite as fast today, so I'm only taking a picture every 2 or 3 hours.
Unfortunately, our snow plow truck is in the garage, so apart from what we can move with shovels, we're snowed in. Dad is staying home today because he can't get his truck out. My classes for Monday and today were cancelled yesterday and my classes for tomorrow were cancelled earlier this afternoon. So I've ended up with lots of extra study time!
The other good thing is that our little neighborhood seems to be the only one for miles with electricity. Everyone else in our church (most of whom live in other counties) is experiencing power outages, so we're blessed and praying that it continues to hold out. Our power blinked a couple times yesterday and we loose internet occasionally, but no long term outages so  far!
