Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a good Easter!!
We were invited to dinner at the pastor's house, so we went over there after church.
Later in the afternoon we went to visit Grandma Fitzwater and wish her a "Happy Easter"!

Doesn't Ava make the most adorable Easter bunny?!?!
Just Too Cute!!!!

We didn't do matching Easter outfits this year, but Karissa, Kaitlyn, and I did get matching shirts. Karissa wore a red skirt, so Kaleb's red tie coordinated with her. Mom and Dad wore purple that coordinated with Katrina's dress... and Kaitlyn had a little splash of purple there! I was just plain black and gray :)

No More Braces!!

Monday, I got my braces off. So I had them for a little under 2 years. The transformation (to me) is astounding. This before picture is so embarrassing. I used to look like a monster or something. It's terrible. However, I'm very pleased with the outcome of those two years! It was totally worth it! Even the retainer isn't as bad as I though it would be! In fact, it's not bad at all...

BEFORE:
*YUK* I hate this picture :P

AFTER:

Mom took this last picture on Monday, right when we got home from the orthodontist.
It feels different too. I knew it would be different, but I never imagined it would be this different!! It's a lot easier to eat. And I can eat nuts again. I did a few times while I had my braces on, but I was always scared of braking a wire or brace and not being able to get it fixed until the next week (my orthodontist only comes to my town on Mondays). And my teeth still feel a little loose, so I'm trying to be easy. But Ashley left us some delicious chocolate-covered-cinnamon-dusted almonds last weekend, so I've been enjoying those!!! And I tried like a quarter of a stick of gum; it felt so hard... I was having trouble chewing it :)

The braces worked great and did their job, but I'm very happy to be done with them!

picture trouble

Well, we had some exciting things going on the past few weeks of which I was going to post some pictures. Unfortunately, Blogger says I can't upload any more pictures. So until I figure out what's going on there, pictures will have to wait.
Nonetheless, we had a great time on vacation. This was the 10th straight year that we've gone to Massanutten on vacation. Can you tell we love it there?!?! It snowed several times, so we hibernated inside. But that was alright because we really just wanted some R & R that week... which we got!
One of our friends was having her 16th birthday party at Massanutten, so Kaitlyn went back down Saturday to celebrate with her. They went swimming, did some shopping and took the birthday girl out to eat :)
Kent, Ashley and Ava came up Saturday evening. Kent's birthday was April 2nd (he's 26 now!) and Ava turned 3 on April 8th! So we had birthday cakes and gifts for them on Sunday afternoon. They had to leave around 6 p.m., but we were glad for the time we got with them. Kent flies back to NM on Thursday.
Hopefully I can post pictures of their visit and our vacation (though there aren't many of those) in the not too distant future!

I hope everyone it doing good, and enjoying spring weather as pretty and nice as we are!!

Spring!

Today is the first day of spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been waiting for sunshine forever! I've been ready for spring since... well, since last summer!
The weather today is a perfect springboard for the year! It's beautiful outside. Now, if it was warm, I'd be out there. Unfortunately, it's still pretty chilly - but WAY better than having snow on the ground!
Kaleb worked all day yesterday getting the rocks raked out of the yard. That's a spring job if there ever was one! It means we are through with snow and snow plows... hopefully! I'd love to be 100% optimistic but I've lived in Garrett County for too long to think that the first day of spring means positively no more snow!
But Spring is certainly on the way!

This was my friend, Abigail, and I last summer... in the sunshine : )
